Developing
Power in Reading,an interesting book created by Betty D. Roe and Elinor
P. Ross has two instructions in how to improve reading skills and
exercises for practicing skills. First of all, students should read
the explanatory material on each topic. The students will have a clear
understanding before proceeding into actual problem solving. Second, they
should complete the related exercise and check their answers by
reffering to the answer key in the back of the book. For example, each
time a topic, such as study skills,is mentioned for the first time.
Therefore, when using this book for independent study, each student should
choose a rate exercise to complete each week in order to practice rate
skills. In conclusion, read the explanatory material and complete the
related exercises are important for students to improve reading skills
by following the instructions.
